“Marked Surface” is a bold abstract composition made up of heavy black brush marks scattered across a white background. The irregular shapes and visible strokes emphasise texture, rhythm, and contrast, creating a sense of movement without a central figure. This piece works well as a modern, graphic statement artwork.
The composition features a diagonal sweep of thick, gestural black marks that vary in size and density, with wispy grey undertones where the brush has dragged across the white surface, lending the piece a raw, energetic tension. This artwork suits contemporary, minimalist, and industrial interiors, complementing spaces such as a home office, living room, or open-plan entertainment area where a strong visual anchor is needed. Style it above a sofa paired with natural wood furniture and monochrome scatter cushions, or incorporate it into a black-and-white gallery wall for a cohesive, gallery-worthy display.
